What does your business do?

We offer adrenaline-filled, outdoor experiences in the form of one of the best ziplines in the world. We are also a fulfiller of people’s bucket lists and people’s desire to just enjoy nature in a very sensory way.

What was the inspiration behind starting your zipline business? Group of zipliners in front of a grey rock bluff

After practicing 38 years as an equine veterinarian and being on call 24/7 my entire career, it was time not to retire. Instead, it was time to start having fun and being able to share that fun with others.

What do you love most about doing business in Southern Illinois?

The people – they care and really appreciate what we have done and being able to share that with them. Our canopy tour is very unique in many areas, the pristine natural area, the simplistic design. Yet there is tons of engineering behind our course design, swinging bridges and the speed of our ziplines. It is the Southern Illinois territory of rock bluffs and incredible hardwood trees that make all of this possible.

According to experienced zipliners who have previously ziplined all over the world, we are told many times we are faster and that Shawnee Bluffs Canopy Tour could be one of the best they have experienced. Our unsolicited reviews on tripadvisor.com bear this out.

What do you deliver to your customers that give them a positive experience?Zipliners on the swinging bridge over the green forest

From the moment they walk in the front door, our participants are happily greeted and given a lot of information and soon learn that safety here at SBCT is priority one but fun is a real close second. Our guides will spend about 3 hours with the participants and there is not enough space on several pages to repeat what positive things participants say about our guides and their experience at SBCT. We have been sharing these experiences for 6 years now.
